Ebook About Eloisa James returns to the Wildes of Lindow Castle series with the next Wilde child who runs and joins a theatre troupe -- and the duke who tries to save her reputation. He wants a prim and proper duchess, not the Wildest of the Wildes! Already notorious for the golden hair that proves her mother’s infidelity, Lady Joan can’t seem to avoid scandals, but her latest escapade may finally ruin her: she’s determined to perform the title role of a prince—in breeches, naturally. She has the perfect model for an aristocratic male in mind: Thaddeus Erskine Shaw, Viscount Greywick, a man who scorned the very idea of marrying her. Not that Joan would want such a dubious honor, of course. For years, Thaddeus has avoided the one Wilde who shakes his composure, but he’s horrified when he grasps the danger Joan’s putting herself in. Staring into her defiant eyes, he makes the grim vow that he’ll keep her safe. He strikes a bargain: after one performance, the lady must return to her father’s castle and marry one of three gentlemen whom he deems acceptable. Not including him, of course.Book Wilde Child: Wildes of Lindow Castle (The Wildes of Lindow Castle Book 6) Review :
Eloisa James' Wilde series has been uneven. Unlike "Say Yes to the Duke", which suffered from a fairly minimal plot, "Wilde Child" succeeds brilliantly on all levels. James presents two complex characters who suffer from serious insecurities and has them learn about themselves and find their way towards each other in a convincing, satisfying way. Along with Joan and Thaddeus other characters also find their HEA. The plot revolves around theatre - Shakespeare - and Ms. James' use of the Bard is a pleasure. The detailed love scenes are handled with flair and contribute nicely to the main characters' learning what is important to them. Several chapters towards the end, involving Thaddeus' obnoxious father, are simply brilliant: they have the kind of verve that distinguished her early novels, especially The Duchess Quartet. This is a book to read and reread. Thank you for the homerun, Ms. James! Eloisa James creates stories that sing and engage. I am a Wilde Clan fan and have been awaiting this book for a long time and I was not disappointed. Ms James has so completely created a family of defined personalities that as soon as they are mentioned the reader flashes back to their stories. It is as if one book ends and the other begins. The tone, the language the mixture and juxtaposition of Hamlet with the turmoil Thaddeus is experiencing with his father is fascinating. Joans transformation and personal enlightenment as she tests the waters of her childhood choices but still retains her joyous and impulsive behavior adds lightness to the story. Joan and Thaddeus love story was suggested in two earlier books and it was delightful how it developed. I laughed, aahed, and got goosebumps. As I read about the other members of the family and their children I smiled with recognition and delight to have their love and stories continued. Please continue writing about this family. They are so much fun, perhaps a short story about a Christmas reunion when Aleric an Wila come home!
